We said goodbye to the Abbeyglen Castle and left Co. Galway this morning with some sun! Heading south towards Co. Kerry we drove to a national park called the The Burren which has many megalithic sites as well as a very unusual landscape. We stopped to take a look at Poulnabrone Dolmen which is a tomb of some sort dated to around 3000 BC. From there we went to the Cliffs of Moher. These are some very impressive cliffs over looking the Atlantic and although we've had a lot of clouds and some rain we were fortunate to have sunny weather here. Next we headed to Co. Kerry to settle into our hotel and meet up with our long lost cousins on my grandfathers side. We had a wonderful dinner and went to visit the house where my Great Grandmother grew up in and which is still owned by the family today, although it is currently unoccupied. We ended the night with tea and some fun conversations back at my 3rd (or is it 4th) cousins house. A great night!
